About This Event
Rashtriya Sewa Bharati launched the Suposhit Bharat Abhiyan with the vision of building a healthy, nourished, and empowered society. The campaign focuses on improving the holistic nutrition and well-being of adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children below five years of age, especially in underserved and vulnerable communities. Through this initiative, various awareness and community-based programmes are being conducted across the country to address malnutrition, anaemia, poor maternal health, and lack of nutritional awareness.
The campaign promotes balanced diets, hygienic practices, regular health check-ups, immunisation awareness, and nutritional education among families. Special emphasis is placed on community participation, behaviour change, and local solutions to ensure sustainable improvements in health and nutrition. Health camps, counselling sessions, nutrition demonstrations, awareness rallies, growth monitoring activities, and interactions with mothers and adolescents are regularly organised as part of the initiative.
For the past two years, Suposhan Jagran Saptah has been organised nationwide every September to intensify awareness and public participation in the mission of a malnutrition-free India. During this week-long campaign, volunteers, healthcare workers, social organisations, and community members come together to spread awareness about proper nutrition and healthy living practices, strengthening the collective effort towards a healthier and stronger nation.
